President’s interest in Niharika for discussion with Law Minister and Attorney General. President Bidya Devi Bhandari has expressed interest in the issue of Niharika Rajput who attempted self-immolation outside the President’s office.
On Saturday, she called Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Gobind Bandi and Attorney General Khammahadur Khati to express her concern about Niharika Rajput’s case. Niharika was saved by the police whens he tried to set herself on fire outside the presidential office on Friday. Currently, she is being kept at the Teaching Hospital.
President Bhandari expressed interest in the incident the next day. The President is interested in the situation.
Niharika claims Shivraj Shrestha of Janakpur raped her and blackmailed her by photographing and videotaping it. Rajput also went on a hunger strike to demand that her child’s DNA be tested. She urged that the inquiry into the incident be reopened from the beginning, claiming that the case had been weakened from the start.
