The head of Animal Development Branch was beaten up in the office by his friend from the village for not caring about him

On Wednesday afternoon at around 2 o’clock, the chief of the animal development section of Triveni Rural Municipality in Salyan, Vasanta Raut, was busy with his work. He was preparing to present the annual review program of his municipality and district. Using Power Point, Raut was working on his presentation on the computer.

At that time, Janak Budhathoki, Raut’s brother-in-law from Chinjanaka, Pipal, entered Raut’s office. Raut was still occupied with his work. Upon entering, Budhathoki asked Raut, “What are you doing here?” Raut casually replied, “I’m working, brother.” He then turned back to his computer as before.

However, without any warning, Budhathoki suddenly attacked Raut with a punch. Raut said, “He attacked me suddenly, about 6 times on my head. I was hit twice in the eye area, and my glasses fell off.”

During the attack, Raut sustained injuries to his head, one eye was swollen, and other parts of his body were also injured, as described by Raut himself.

When asked why Budhathoki attacked him, Raut denied having any personal issues with him. He stated, “I was busy preparing the presentation for the annual review program. Even if he needed any medicine, I would have given it to him, but I don’t understand why he attacked me like that.”

The incident of the assault on Raut in his office was reported to the police, who promptly took Budhathoki into custody. He is currently being held at the Luhama Police Office on charges of assaulting Raut.

Following the altercation, Raut, the chief of the section, sought medical treatment at the Rapti Regional Hospital in Tulsipur.
