An appeal made to ban InDriver app in Nepal

An appeal filed in the Supreme Court demanding to ban InDriver app in Nepal. A writ (letter) has been filed in the Supreme Court demanding that the ride-sharing app InDriver be shut down because it is operating illegally in Nepal.
Jagat Bahadur Rawal has filed a lawsuit alleging that the company’s operations, which are not even registered in Nepal, violate Nepalese law.

The Supreme Court has scheduled the writ hearing for Sunday. “The operations carried out by the InDriver app in Nepal without registration are sufficient cause contrary to the law here,” the writ says, adding that “the said app has not provided guarantees for the safety of Nepali people’s lives, insurance, and so on.” The constitutionally guaranteed basic rights of Nepalese citizens run counter to the legal regime envisioned by the constitution.

In contrast to the Industrial Business Act of 2076, the Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act of 2075, the Vehicle and Transportation Management Act of 2049, the Provincial Vehicle and Transportation Management Act of 2075, the Consumer Protection Act of 2075, and the Competition Promotion and Market Protection Act of 2063, the Vehicle and Transportation Management Act of 2049, the Provincial Vehicle and Transportation Management Act of 2075, The Consumer Protection Act of 2075, and the Consumer Protection Act of 20
The claim is stated in the writ.

If the illegal operation of the app continues until the dispute is finally settled, the legitimacy of the rule of law envisioned by the constitution and the provisions in the constitution, existing laws and laws will end,” the writ further states and from the point of view of balance, according to rule 49 of the Supreme Court Rules, 2074, unless the office of the said app is duly registered in Nepal, the insurance and safety of the users of the said app is guaranteed, and not to charge more rent than the government specified through the said app, the last of this writ petition. Let us issue an interim order banning the use of the InDriver app until it is resolved.”
