Forbes has listed five Nepalis on the list of ‘30 Under 30 Asia’ category for this year. Forbes is a global media company that specializes in business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, and lifestyle. According to Forbes, this year’s 30 Under 30 Asia honorees were chosen based on their innovative approaches to redefining the future of business and society in Asia through their forward-thinking vision.
Who are the five Nepali’s on the list of ‘30 Under 30 Asia?
The five Nepalis listed by Forbes on the list of ‘30 Under 30 Asia include Santosh Pandey, Niraj Kafle, Sumit Dahal, Aishwarya Rani Singh and Sujit Pathak.
Santosh Pandey and Niraj Kafle are the co-founders of Offering Happiness. Offering Happiness aims to unite Nepalis, particularly those working abroad, through gift delivery. The team was chosen under Retail and eCommerce.
Niraj and Santosh are 28 and 25 years old, respectively. The pair has been classified as Retail and Ecommerce.The cofounders won the Global Student Entrepreneur Awards Nepal 2018, were named best startup at Seedstars Kathmandu 2019. They were selected to compete in Seedstars’ global summit in 2020, claiming to be Nepal’s largest gifting platform pioneering in surprise planning alongside experiential and corporate gifting.
Similarly, Sumit Dahal has been included in the ‘Healthcare and Science’ category. Dahal holds his Ph.D. in astrophysics from Johns Hopkins University and his Bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics from NYU Abu Dhabi.The 27-year-old prodigy has created advanced telescopes to explore the origins and evolution of the Earth. According to Forbes, Dahal works as an experimental astrophysicist and postdoctoral researcher at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, where he constructs telescopes to study the creation and evolution of the cosmos. Dahal has set up three microwave telescopes in Chile’s Atacama Desert to collect microwave remains from the universe’s early days. The data is being used to put the idea of cosmic inflation to the test and to investigate new physics models.
Meanwhile, Aishwariya Rani Singh, 28, is the founder and Board Chair of Putali Nepal, a non-profit organization that earned Singh the Social Impact award. She is the only Nepali woman on this year’s Forbes 30 under 30 list.
Putali Nepal assists young people in becoming effective trainers. The group promotes menstrual health education. It also manufactures and distributes menstrual cups and comic books on menstruation. According to Forbes, Singh has inspired over 1,000 people to use menstrual cups and has directly or indirectly trained over 14,000 people since launching the organization.
She has also empowered and assisted young people in becoming trainers in their communities.
Sujit Pathak ,co-founder of InGrails, has also been recognized in the ‘Consumer Technology’ category.

The application solution claims to be the digital backbone for over 800 schools in Nepal, with 1.6 million regular users. Veda, which has lately joined the Brunei market, assists schools with operations, finance, communications, and data management, allowing them to focus and invest more in teaching.
According to Forbes, many of the 300 contenders on the shortlist were startups, social activists, and entrepreneurs from South East Asia. It also states that the individuals chosen for the list are “delivering e-commerce and online learning services” and “redefining the future of business and society in Asia.”
