Indian company bags contract to print 430M units of Nepali currency with 1,000 denomination of current fiscal year. Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has chosen an Indian company to supply 430 million pieces of Nepali currency in Rs 1,000 denomination.
In this regard, Nepal’s central bank forwarded a letter of intent to M/S Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited, India, on Wednesday. The contract was awarded to the Indian company based on the lowest bid value, according to the NRB. The Indian company has agreed to supply the aforementioned quantity of Nepali notes at a cost of US $11,134,506. Indian company bags contract to print 430M units of Nepali currency
The Indian firm has been contracted to carry out the procurement of 430 million Nepali rupees, including design, printing, supply, and delivery. According to the NRB, the Indian company was chosen from among four that competed in the bidding.
Among the other firms competing were Casa da Moeda do Brasil in Brazil, China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation in China, and Oberthur Fiduciaire SAS in France.
