Nepalese getting used to digital payments , with the yearly transaction of more than 14 billion. In a period of one year, Nepalis have transacted more than 14 trillion rupees using various means of digital payment.
According to the statistics published by Nepal Rastra Bank, in the last fiscal year 2078/79, a total of 14 trillion 88 billion 935 million rupees was transacted through mobile banking, digital wallet and QR code. This amount is 138 percent more than in fiscal year 2077/78.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank statistics, 623 trillion 789 million rupees were transacted through mobile banking, digital wallets, and QR codes in the previous fiscal year. Mobile banking is the most commonly used method of digital payment.
Currently, all banks offer mobile banking services.
Mobile banking allows users to make small and large payments in their daily lives.As a result, the use of mobile banking is growing.
According to Nepal Rastra Bank statistics, a total of 12 trillion 10 billion 134 million rupees was transacted through mobile banking in the previous fiscal year. This is 152 percent more than in fiscal year 2077/78. In the fiscal year 2077/78, the transaction of 4 trillion 78 billion 853 million rupees was done through mobile banking.
Payments made through digital wallets have increased by 47 percent in the last financial year compared to the previous financial year. Payments via QR increased by 365 percent in the last fiscal year compared to the previous fiscal year. There was a turnover of 20 billion 282 million rupees in the fiscal year 2077/78, and a turnover of 94 billion 508 million rupees in the previous fiscal year.
