Last Friday, Nepal Telecom, started distributing embedded SIM cards (e-SIM).Telecom initially only offered eSIM through Sundhara’s counter, but it now offers it through a variety of other counters. With the increased discussion of e-SIM, it has recently been discovered that it has caused a great deal of confusion among the general public.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and answers about e-SIM :

  • Can a regular SIM card be used after using an eSIM?

    The physical SIM is deactivated as soon as the e-SIM is activated by Telecom.It to converts a physical SIM card into an e-SIM. Users cannot use an e-SIM with the same number in one device and a physical SIM in another or the same device.As a result, a number can have either a physical SIM or an e-SIM.It is not possible to have the same number on both a physical SIM and an e-SIM.

  • What is the quality of data and voice in eSIM?

    There will be no difference in quality between e-SIM and physical SIM. Users can use it confidently without worrying about the quality of the Internet and voice.
  • How many e-SIM can be used in one mobile phone?

    Each mobile phone manufacturer has made its own e-SIM arrangement.If your phone supports e-SIM, you can create multiple e-SIM profiles for different devices.However, only one account can be used at a time. If we need to use another account right away, we can log out of the current one and log into another.

  • If there is a problem with the e-SIM, can the normal SIM be used or not?

In some cases, there may be an issue with the e-SIM we are using, or our device that supports e-SIM may be damaged.
In that case, the e-SIM can be converted back into a physical SIM. 

  • Can e-SIM be used with two physical SIM cards?

You can use as many physical SIM cards as you need if your device supports e-SIM. However, physical SIM cards and e-SIM cards with the same number cannot be used in the same phone. Aside from that, the phone can accept an unlimited number of e-SIMs and normal SIMs.

  • Is it possible to get two e-SIMs in one mobile or not?

According to reports, phones that support e-SIM can store at least three e-SIM profiles. This means you can have up to three e-SIM profiles in a single phone. However, only one e-SIM card is active at any given time.
