WhatsApp, a messaging network owned by Meta Inc., introduces new privacy features now allows users to leave groups silently, prevent screenshots of their messages, and much more. Telegram, IMO, and other competitive messaging platforms have the option of allowing users to conduct functions such as leaving public groups without the embarrassment of alerting other members.
Telegram, for example, has a feature where a user may have a private chat with someone and if the other person screenshots it, it will notify the user. WhatsApp introduces new privacy features, including the ability to leave groups silently, as well as the ability to prevent screenshots of your messages. Meta Inc. owned chat platform, WhatsApp is rolling out new changes to compete favourably with other messaging apps.
Users can now select who can see them online in the latest update, and they may use the snapshot option to restrict third-party sharing of their discussions.
While introducing the upgrade on social media, Zuckerberg wrote:
“New WhatsApp privacy features are in the way, including the ability to abandon group chats without notifying everyone, restrict who can see when you’re available, and block screenshots on view once messages.” We’ll keep innovating to keep your texts as private and safe as face-to-face talks.”
WhatsApp has recently provided new improvements to its billions of users, the most notable of which is the increase of group participants from the previous 257 members to accommodate more people. It also added the ability to react to messages in groups and private chats.
The change is considered as Meta’s initiative to give users the ability to not only have a better talking experience, but also to feel safe about their privacy while doing so. Meta also intends to improve its platforms in readiness for the metaverse concept’s complete adoption.
