Nepal’s Naulo Restaurant Uses Robots As Waiters

Nepal’s Naulo Restaurant Uses Robots As Waiters fot the first time. Robots are being used as waiters in a recently opened restaurant in the capital of Nepal, which advertises itself as “where food meets technology.”
Five robots, three named Ginger and two named Ferry, were created and manufactured by Paaila Technology, a Nepali company founded by six young engineers that specializes in robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) technology, according to Xinhua news agency on Saturday. “Naulo” (which means new in Nepali) operates with the assistance of these robots.

The restaurant has a menu implanted in digital screens on tables from where orders can be placed directly to the kitchen. After the dishes are ready, the robots collect them from the kitchen counter and serve the customers. Nepal’s Naulo Restaurant Uses Robots As Waiters

Raut, 27, who completed engineering studies in India and the UK, said: “We travelled to different countries including China and Japan to learn about the design, framework and operation of robots before launching it in Nepal. Now, our target is to introduce this Nepali innovation in the international market.”

Swarm intelligence, speech recognition, natural language processing, and auto-docking are just a few of the features that give Robot Ginger its power. Additionally, the robot tells jokes and responds to simple IQ tests in both Nepali and English.

Following the operation of Pari, its first humanoid robot, which was stationed in a Nepal SBI Bank branch, Paaila Technology entered the hospitality industry.

Pari has been implemented in the bank’s inTouch branch, a digital branch that serves as an informational and guiding tool for customers. The robot welcomed clients as it got to work by saying “Hello, midday. Greetings from Nepal, SBI In Touch.

Paaila Technology has spent around 15 million Nepali rupees ($134,568) on research and development in the last few years.
