Vehicle license will be printed in the provinces

Driver’s licenses will also be printed in the provinces. The decision was made at an inter-level coordination meeting of all seven provinces’ transport ministers, presided over by the Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister.

According to the ministry, the federal government has decided to provide machines for printing smart licenses from the respective transport offices in the state. At the moment, the license is only printed by the Transport Department. As a result of not being able to obtain a license for two years, it was decided to print in the province, according to Chudaraj Dhakal, joint secretary of the ministry.

The probationary license will be issued on the same day as the trial is completed. To address the smart license issue, smart licenses will be printed in all provinces, with one in Far West and Karnali and two in Gandaki and Lumbini. The ministry will deploy license reading devices to traffic officers and develop an online payment system for traffic penalties.

According to Dhakal, decisions have been made to expedite the distribution of embossed number plates, build an internet portal, manage online applications, and so on.
