Nisha Chaudhary of Lumbini Province sets a new national record in the Women’s 100m race at the 9th National Games, finishing in 12.15 seconds.
Saraswati Choudhary of Tribhuvan Army Club won gold in the women’s 100m race with a national record at the 9th National Games. Saraswati, an Olympian, broke Nisha Chaudhary’s record by winning gold in the heat stage.
Saraswati set a national record by finishing the race in 12.13 seconds.
Nisha Chaudhary of Lumbini had previously set a heat record of 12.15 seconds. However, in the final, Nisha completed the prescribed distance in 12.22 seconds and won the silver medal. Ramita Tharu of the Army won the bronze medal with a time of 12.93 seconds.
Saraswati’s record is the hand timing record. Previously, he won gold in the 8th National Games with a time of 12.19 seconds. Devi Maya Paneru’s electronic time of 12:19 s was recorded at the 8th South Asian Games in 1999.
