The Nepali market for smartwatches has not been particularly large.When smartphones and smartwatches go hand in hand, smartwatches are still looking for a market.
However, there have been a significant increase in smart watch imports in recent years.
According to recent Customs Department data, more than 70 million rupees worth of smartwatche have been imported into Nepal in the last two months.
According to the department, 53 thousand 349 smartwatches with a total value of more than 73.9 million entered Nepal in the first two months of the current fiscal year 2079/080, i.e. between July and August.
66 thousand 281 smartwatches worth more than 79.8 million were imported in the first two months of the fiscal year 2078/079. According to this calculation, smartwatch imports this year are less than 13,000 units lower than the previous year.
Various companies have introduced new smartwatches to Nepal during this period, aiming to capitalize on the approaching Dashain and Tihar.
