Mahabir Pun stated “He won a lottery”: Agricultural Tools Factory

Pun, the chairman of the Innovation Center, stated after the agreement of Agricultural Tools Factory that he felt as if he won the lottery by being given a responsibility that he had never considered. The Nepalese government has signed an agreement with Mahabir Pun’s National Innovation Center to reopen the Birgunj Agricultural Tools Factory, which is currently closed.

Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma has assigned responsibility for reopening the National Innovation Center, an agricultural implement factory in Birgunj. On Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance and the National Innovation Center signed an agreement to reopen the factory.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Ministry by Joint Secretary Ramesh KC and Chairman of the Innovation Center Mahaveer Pun in the presence of Finance Minister Janardhan Sharma.

On August 31, the Council of Ministers decided to reopen the Agricultural Tools Factory Innovation Center, which had been closed for nearly three decades. The Ministry of Finance has also entered into an operating agreement with the Innovation Center, according to the same decision.

Finance Minister Janardan Sharma stated that the agricultural implement factory has been entrusted to the Innovation Center in accordance with the announcement in the fiscal year 2079/80 budget that closed and sick factories will be reopened.

The current fiscal year’s budget has adopted the basic policy of increasing production, creating jobs, and replacing imports. Everyone is aware that under that policy, we have prioritized the agricultural and industrial sectors,’ he said, adding that the operation has been entrusted to the center.

On June 21, Minister Sharma paid a visit to Birganj and inspected the factory. At the same time, he stated that he would reopen the factory.

Following the agreement, Poon, the chairman of the Innovation Center, stated that he felt as if he won the lottery by being given a responsibility that he had never considered.

“I never imagined such an agreement with the Nepal government and the Ministry of Finance,” he said.

He also stated that the contract was for good work.
They also expressed their determination to do good in accordance with their knowledge and conscience.

The factory will be run by’ आविष्कार केन्द्रले ‘for the next ten years, according to the agreement.
For the past ten years, the Innovation Center has been entrusted with operations such as planning, manpower development, production, and marketing of agricultural tools.

For the first time, the government will provide the necessary budget for the factory’s maintenance and operation.
Similarly, the innovation center will establish a research center, conduct research and training, train workers, and manufacture and sell modern agricultural tools.
