In the design process following steps are involved:
- Empathize:
It is the process of researching the user’s needs. Here designer tries to understand the user and their needs by gathering data through interviews, observation, and research. We must consider the users and their pain points and focus on a user-centered approach.
- Define:
Based on the information gathered, the designer defines the needs and core problem and identifies the key challenges that must be addressed.
- Ideate:
This stage involves creating ideas and concepts to solve the defined problem. It often involves brainstorming sessions, creating mind maps, and sketching out rough prototypes.
- Prototype:
The designer creates a physical or digital representation of their ideas in the form of prototypes. These prototypes can range from paper sketches to high-fidelity digital wireframes. These prototypes can be shared and tested within the team itself. The main motive of this step is to identify the best possible solution for each of the problems identified during the first three stages.
- Test:
This step involves evaluating and testing the made prototypes. Here feedback is gathered and the ideas are validated. This stage is crucial as it helps the designer understand what works and what doesn’t.
- Implement & Evaluate:
Based on the feedback received, the designer improves the prototypes and develops the final product. The final product is then evaluated and deployed. The effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement are gathered from time to time.
All the processes are iterative and may involve going back and forth between the steps until the desired outcome is achieved.
