Detail about 10-Days for new student
The 10-day Vipassana course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the practice of Vipassana meditation and is suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators.
During a 10-day Vipassana course, participants are required to adhere to a strict code of conduct, which includes abstaining from speaking, physical contact, and sexual activity. The course involves approximately 10 hours of meditation per day, interspersed with breaks for meals and rest.
The first three days of the course are devoted to developing concentration through a technique known as Anapana meditation. This involves focusing on the breath and observing the sensations in the area around the nostrils. The purpose of this technique is to sharpen the mind and develop the ability to observe sensations with clarity and equanimity.
From the fourth day onwards, participants begin to practice Vipassana meditation, which involves observing the sensations throughout the body without judgment or attachment. The purpose of this technique is to gain insight into the impermanent, unsatisfactory, and selfless nature of reality.
On the 10th day, there will be a Mangal Maitri Chant.
Throughout the course, participants receive daily instructions from a teacher, and there are opportunities to ask questions and receive individual guidance. The course is conducted in silence to minimize distractions and promote introspection.
At the end of the 10-day course, participants are encouraged to continue practicing Vipassana meditation on their own. They are also invited to make a donation to support the ongoing operation of the course and the center where it is held.
Overall, a 10-day Vipassana course can be a challenging but transformative experience. It requires dedication and discipline, but the rewards can be significant in terms of developing greater mindfulness, clarity, and inner peace.
