On-site inspection at Sankhamool and Baneshwar to remove illegal structures on Thursday morning. A team led by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Sah (Balen) arrived in Sankhamool and Baneshwar to remove unauthorized structures.
DIG Meera Chaudhary and Mayor Balen have now reached the basement of Shankhamul Burger House. Before the inspection, a team led by the mayor arrived at the site of the unauthorized structure after consulting with the ward’s people’s representatives at the Kathmandu No. 10 ward office.
Balen’s landlord and burger house owner have said that they will vacate the underground parking by Sunday. The Balen-led team is observing the shops that have been opened in illegal structures. Balen has also reached places where underground parking is required on Baneshwar and Shankhamul Roads, where they have rented out to businessmen without parking.
They told the businessmen to inform the housewives about the basement parking and to pack with shutters. The team also said that they will come after 3 hours to see if they have packed. The metropolitan team is monitoring the underground shoe shops, mobile shops, boutiques and other areas.
