YouTube Is Experimenting A New feature Called Pinch-To-Zoom. Zooming in on any video on mobile devices is a new function being tested by YouTube with its premium members. The most recent opt-in experimental feature, according to 9to5Google, allows viewers to zoom in and out of videos using the pinch-to-zoom action. This feature works with both landscape and portrait perspectives.
The experimental feature is now available to a limited number of users and can be found on YouTube’s experimental features page.
According to rumors, YouTube will keep the zoom feature in beta until September 1st, giving them around a month to gather user feedback and make any required changes before releasing it to the public.
In order to use the pinch to zoom feature from your phone or website, go to the YouTube settings. If you have YouTube Premium, you should be able to access the “test new features” section. The zoom feature is presently the sole component that may be tested.
Although a few people have complained about being unable to use the pinch gesture to zoom in closer on any videos immediately after activating the test, it appears that there may be a delay between signing up and being able to use it. However, once it is operational, users should be able to zoom in up to 8x.
There are current accessibility capabilities on Android and iOS that allow users to zoom in on YouTube material, and doing so is obviously pretty straightforward in a desktop browser. However, having it as a native feature selectable in the mobile app makes it even more useful. Picture-in-picture mode, a long-time Android feature, was eventually made available by YouTube for the iPhone and iPad last month after being tested initially by premium users.
