Alert Fraudsters on social media claiming to get jobs in telecom. Nepal Telecom has asked to be alert after it was found that a scam (fraud) was being done through social media by adding the names of the responsible officials of Nepal Telecom and the company. Telecom has released a notification and asked people to be alert after the public was tricked by saying that they would find employment in the company through various social media such as Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp etc.
“As it has been found that many people have been tricked by adding the names of the responsible officials of Nepal Telecom and the company through Facebook, Messenger and WhatsApp on the pretext of ‘getting employment in the company and also providing the necessary training for that’, everyone is requested to be aware of this,” the notification reads.
The company has also requested to consider only the information received from official sources as the basis. Also, Telecom has requested to consider the verified page of Telecom on social media (blue tick mark behind the name of Telecom) and the information provided from the website.
