Dry landslides have blocked the Karnali corridor. The Karnali Corridor has been closed owing to a dry landslide in Lapha of Kalikot’s Pachal Jharna Rural Municipality.
Landslides have closed the corridor since Saturday. Man Bahadur Bhandari, a Palanta resident, stated that vehicles were unable to function on the road due to continual landslides.
“The Karnali Corridor has been closed for two days,” he said. “There were landslides in numerous locations during the wet season.” The corridor has been severely damaged as a result of a dry landslide at Lapha. Hundreds of local passengers and patients, including residents of Bajura, Mugu, and other nearby towns, are stranded.
The absence of machinery to remove the massive landslide debris is causing a problem. According to the police, an effort has been launched to prevent the landslide. Dry landslides have blocked the Karnali corridor.
Passenger and commercial vehicles used to go from Lalighat in the Karnali Corridor to Salisalla in Humla, but they have already ceased operations due to dry landslides. Locals estimate that clearing the rubble will take several weeks.
Because of the closed corridor, transportation of food and vital items in the area is still halted.
