Major parties involving children in election campaigns

According to the National Human Rights Commission, major parties candidates are involving children in election campaigns and going against the election code of conduct.

According to the commission, activities involving children include filming TikTok videos, having them perform dances while campaigning, and having them paste promotional materials in schools.
According to the NHRC, such activities have been widely reported in districts such as Dang, Pyuthan, Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Ramechhap, Doti, and Kathmandu, among others.

The commission has asked the government and the Election Commission to ensure that the elections are free, fair, and respectful of human rights.
According to the NHRC, dozens of human rights violations have occurred during the monitoring so far.

According to the commission, 32 teams, including the commission’s high-level monitoring team, visited 67 districts across all seven provinces to monitor the human rights situation before the elections.

Violent incidents have occurred in various districts ahead of the elections, including bomb explosions in Nepalgunj and Bhojpur.
