Surgeon’s Tea Demand Halts Surgeries

In a startling incident at a Nagpur health center, a surgeon’s demand for tea led to the abrupt halt of family planning surgeries, triggering an investigation by the Nagpur district administration. The accused, Dr. Tejrang Bhalavi, reportedly left the operation theatre midway through scheduled vasectomy procedures after his request for tea went unfulfilled.

The incident occurred on November 3, when eight women were scheduled for surgeries. Dr. Bhalavi successfully completed procedures on four patients but unexpectedly left after requesting tea and not receiving it. The hospital administration promptly informed the district medical officer, who dispatched another doctor to complete the remaining surgeries on patients already under anesthesia.
