In Friday night’s final of Para Taekwondo under 44 categories in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Kawadar, who is ranked first in the world in the under 52 kg weight category, earned a historic gold medal by defeating Meryam Betul. 12-0 score.

Palesha, who fought in the K44-57kg weight class, was defeated 8-2 in the quarterfinals by Iran’s Ebrahimi Roza.
In a close match, Srijana upset world number two Jessica Quijano of Mexico 8-7 in the quarterfinals. She defeated third-seeded Brazilian player Cristian Nascimento 15-13 in the semi-finals.
Srijana has risen in the world ranking of his weight category in Para Taekwondo as a result of his gold medal. She travelled to Saudi Arabia to compete in a competition ranked 14th and returned ranked 7th.
World rankings are crucial for direct participation in the Paris Paralympic Games in 2024. The Nepal Taekwondo Association has opted to compete in the Grand Prix Final in order to improve the players’ rating.
Srijana, who won the gold with 100 points, now has 112 points. The top six athletes in each weight class qualify directly for the Paralympics in Paris. Srijana will need to win a comparable encounter. Palesha Govardhan competed in the Tokyo Para Olympics as a wild card two years ago.
The K44 style in Taekwondo denotes that one of the arms is missing below the elbow. Both Nepalese players are in the same category. As a result, they assist each other even during home training.
Srijana had previously earned a silver medal in the Asian Para Youth Games. He also took silver in the World Team President’s Cup.
