Government bans on the import of various items

The government has extended the bans on the import of specific luxury items imposed in April. The ban on the import of luxury items might go longer. The government focuses focus is saving the country from the economic crisis first.

The government first declared the restriction would last through the end of the fiscal year (mid-July).
The country’s economy is still not strong enough. The government is considering to extend the restriction on the import of luxury goods.

The government is getting ready to extend the April import restriction particularly in ten luxury goods. Nepal Government will continue ban on importing these things till Bhadra 14

  1. Expensive Mobile Phones (US $ 300 above)
  2. Foreign Alcohol,
  3. Ready made Cigarettes
  4. Lays, Kurkure like Products
  5. Diamond
  6. Color TV (>32 Inch)
  7. Jeep, Car, Vans (except Ambulance)
  8. Motorcycles (>150 CC)
  9.  All types of toys
  10. Playing cards etc

The priority of the government is to first rescue the nation from the economic crisis and make the Nepalese economy strong.
