Tootle is a ride-sharing platform inside Kathmandu valley. It provides a platform for two-wheeler owners and people who need rides to connect and share the ride. Tootle aimed to become a pioneer in approaching the sharing economy which is an emerging concept in Nepal.
Sixit Bhatta is the man behind Tootle, Nepal’s first ride-sharing app based on motorcycles as the medium. The venture officially began operations in January 2017.Tootle received a lot of praise from the public for providing customers with an easy and quick ride.
The matchmaker app turned out to be an excellent source of income for the riders. It had over 10,000 riders as its members. There is no doubt that the platform benefited both riders and pillion riders in various ways.
Tootle is the first Nepalese first star up company providing ride sharing platform . Nepal has other similar platform like : Patho , inDriver . These company is not owned by Nepal itself. Patho is Bangladesh company where as inDriver is a worldwide ride-hailing service by Silicon Valley.
Tootle being a Nepalese company is facing dominance from other international apps and company .Its been more than months that tootle has not updated its official facebook page. Their both main server and app has been down for many months .
Users are making complain that their apps are not working. They are not able to login to the app and are not getting codes from the server. There is any official news from the company whether its dead or it has some issues regarding its software. This problem has lead to confusion and made question among to users and the entrepreneurs ” Where is this company now? .
It’s not official whether this company has shut down or is it facing some technical problem. The demise of tootle may discourage many new starts ups.
