Nepse dips 27.54 points while daily turnover amount slips to Rs 1.15 billion on Sunday On Sunday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell 27.54 points to close at 1,855.06 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,882.60 points and fell steadily during the trading session. According to stockbrokers, the market was significantly affected by banks stating their reluctance to decrease interest rates due to the risk that their liquidity position would worsen in one month between mid-December and mid-January.

The daily turnover fell to Rs 1.15 billion from Rs 1.19 billion on Thursday, the final day of the previous week. During intraday trading, 180 firms had their market value fall while 25 saw their share prices rise.

The sensitive index, which monitors the performance of blue chip businesses, fell 5.22 points as well. The market value of all 13 trading groups fell, with the sub-index of development banks falling the most, by 68.87 points.

Among individual companies, Agriculture Development Bank Limited posted the largest transaction of its shares worth Rs 62.51 million. Ru Ru Jalbidhyut Pariyojana Limited was the top loser, while Eastern Hydropower Limited gained the highest percent of its market value.
