One Piece Manga sets a Guinness World Record with over 500 copies published. Shueisha announced on Thursday that Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga had sold 500 million copies worldwide as of the same day’s release of the manga’s 103rd compiled book volume.
416,566,000 copies are in Japan. While 100 million are in 60 countries and territories outside than Japan.
One Piece has became not just the first manga to achieve such achievements in Japan, but also the first comic series in the world to accomplish such achievements.
Earlier in 2015, the manga set a Guinness World Record by selling over 320 million copies.
Furthermore, Oricon revealed the top-selling manga sales list of 2015, with four volumes of One Piece from 76 to 79 securing the top four slots.
On behalf of the entire crew, the series’ Editor-in-Chief accepted the Guinness World Record certificate.
On January 4, 2022, Oda published the 1,000th chapter in the combined 5th/6th edition of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It recently commemorated its 25th anniversary on July 22, 2022, with a world premiere of One Piece Film Red and other celebrations spread across two days.
