Lalitpur Metropolitan City will launch a “Shared Bicycles Scheme” with in the city. Lalitpur will build bicycle stands and make arrangements for bicycle rentals in various locations . This will increase the use of bicycle lanes and to create an environment where people who do not own bicycles can use bicycles.
Payment system of “Shared Bicycle Scheme”
Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan of Lalitpur Metropolitan City said at a press conference on Wednesday that they are going to make arrangements for renting bicycles. The rent can be paid using e-payment.
There will be “GPS” tracking of bicycles. Users can transfer the bicycle from one stand to another by ‘locking’ it. The Metropolitan Municipality has stated that a contract with a commercial organization will be negotiated for this service.
Anyone without a bicycle who needs to get somewhere can reach the next bicycle stand by paying the specified amount digitally.
