Rabi Lamichhane, a well-known media personality announced a new political party as a platform for independent candidates.
Lammichane made an announcement of his ‘Rastriya Swotantra Party’ at a press conference held in Kathmandu on Tuesday. He said that the new party would move ahead by focusing on deserving and talented youths.
Stating that existing parties do not give any hope for development at present. He clarified no change in political system compelled him to open a new party for the change and unity among the deserving independent candidates.
Lamichhane also demanded provisions for a directly elected Prime Minister and chief ministers. He said that he has joined politics not to change the system but to change the situation of the people.
During the event, Lamichhane also publicized the party’s proposed election symbol, a bell.
