Despite reaching a transfer agreement with Barcelona, Man United is not unable to persuade de Jong to leave the club in favor of a move to Old Trafford. Man United, on the other hand, is not ready to give up just yet . Man United is looking to lure the midfielder into making a final decision by offering him a high paying salary.
The Premier League giants are aware that Barcelona’s €20 million deferred salary owed to de Jong. It is becoming a hinderance in their pursuit of the player.
Man United are, however, willing to turn the tables by offering the Dutchman a lucrative package that not only matches the player’s current salary at Barça. They will also compensates him for the deferred wages owed to him by the Catalans.
Man United finally reached an agreement with their La Liga rivals, with the Red Devils willing to pay an initial fee of £63 million for the midfielder.An additional £8 million in add-ons and bonuses.
According to sources close to the player say De Jong is ‘willing’ to join United this summer. Even so, the Dutchman and his agent, Ali Dursan, agree on publicly expressing a desire to relocate to England.
