Despite reaching a transfer agreement with Barcelona, Man United is not unable to persuade de Jong to leave the club in favor of a move to Old Trafford. Man United, on the other hand, is not ready to give up just yet . Man United is looking to lure the midfielder into making a final decision by offering him a high paying salary.
The Premier League giants are aware that Barcelona’s €20 million deferred salary owed to de Jong. It is becoming a hinderance in their pursuit of the player.
Man United are, however, willing to turn the tables by offering the Dutchman a lucrative package that not only matches the player’s current salary at Barça. They will also compensates him for the deferred wages owed to him by the Catalans.
