Nepal losses again in AFC

Kathmandu. Nepal has suffered its second consecutive defeat in the AFC Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers. In last night’s match, Nepal lost 4-1 to Kuwait.

Youssef Nasser scored twice to give the home side a thrilling victory, while Fahd al-Rassidi and Mowarak al-Faneni all scored one goal each. Darshan Gurung scored a goal for Nepal.

Fahd Alresidi scored in the 28th minute to give Kuwait the lead. Yusuf Nasser doubled Kuwait’s lead in the 48th minute. Yusuf Nasser scored his second goal in the 68th minute to give Kuwait a 3-0 lead.

Mowarak Al Faneni scored in the 73rd minute to give Kuwait a 4-0 lead. After that, Darshan scored a goal in the first minute of added injury time and Nepal returned a goal.

After Kuwait’s first victory in the selection, Nepal has suffered its second consecutive defeat. In the first match, Nepal lost 2-0 to Jordan.

Kuwait has reached 3 points from two games. Nepal has not been able to open a point account. Jordan and Indonesia have the same 3 points in this group.

Meanwhile, Nepal’s head coach Abdullah Almutairi fainted during the match between Nepal and Kuwait. He fell unconscious early in the second half. He was taken to Farwaniya Hospital after normal treatment there. He has been discharged as his health condition is normal.
